RM PressFit
steelPRES / Carbon steel
steelPRES is the Pressfitting system by Raccorderie Metalliche in carbon steel developed for any closed circuit applications where it is not necessary to use stainless steel, which it is to be considered a valuable cost-effective alternative.
steelPRES material
The steelPRES product range consists of pipes, fittings and installation materials. The range of steelPRES pipes and fittings has a wide range of approvals, being certified by many international institutions. Nine certifications, obtained by RM on the steelPRES product, confirm quality and reliability for applications such as heating, cooling, compressed air and fire protection.
The range of pipes in carbon steel according to the UNI EN 10305-3 standard consists of welded, bordered and calibrated pipes in three different configurations:
- Externally galvanized
- Externally galvanized and covered in polypropylene (1 mm thick)
- Internally and externally galvanised in sendzimir.
Fittings are made in unbounded E195 steel, galvanized with a zinc layer (to increase protection against external corrosion) and fitted with a “M-shaped” profile toroidal chamber, optimized thanks the 20 year research experience. Any fitting hs factory mounted, with an EPDM O-Ring, with a patented profile at the end of production.
Pipes and joints are available from Ø12 to 108 mm.
InoxPRESS - Increase Your Opprtunities
inoxPRES is a Raccorderie Metalliche's Pressfitting System that perfectly combines stainless steel features with pressfitting system advantages in a wide range of fittings and pipes from Ø 15 - 168 mm in 316L. The Oversize range can be pressed by the specially provided Novopress ACO401/403 machine suitable for special high-pressure applications until dia 168.3 mm.
With the RM oversize range you opportunities just got bigger!
Pressfitting Systems
The most effective and efficient way to make an installation.
Pressfitting is a joining between pipes with fittings fitted through electro-mechanical pressing machines. Pressing permanently deforms the fitting on the pipe thus leading to a perfect mechanical joint, while the O-Ring provides for the hydraulic tightening connection. Pressing provides for a constant quality joining, easily reproduced and with a minimum physical effort by the operator.
Why use it
- Safety, speed, reliability.
Copper brazing is the most widely used method in the sanitary and plumbing sector. It asks for expertise and skills, long execution time and involves hot works and free flames. In case of maintenance or refurbishing, generally it is necessary to work in contact with inflammable materials, where the fire risk is very high. - An alternative to brazing is the use of plastic pipes, adhesively jointed. No risk of fires connected to welding but cement resins need hours to dry, according to the room temperature as well.
- Pressfitting stands out with many benefits. It lowers the execution times and it is safer: jointing is carried out at room temperature, with no glues, resins or free flames; the operator works in safety, even when in contact with inflammable materials. Pressing asks for 5 seconds for small diameters and up to 40 seconds for bigger diameters, consistently cutting installation times. What is more, fittings once pressed can be tested thus avoiding cost and downtimes. A 25 to 50% installation time reduction as reported by the company installers, on plants using big diameter pipes.
- Pressfitting provides for the same benefits even when compared to threaded joints, as it is free of dirt and cuts depending on threading process. No need to prepare the fittings, with hemp or Teflon as any joint comes with factory mounts O-Rings.
How to use it
Simple steps for reliable and defined results.
The electromechanical tool press the joint on the pipe through its jaws. The connection is permanent and not reversible. Pressing parameters such as pressure strengh and time. Battery operated tools contribute to reduced weights and furthermore to semplifly the installer operations.
Where to use it
Many different applications, result - reliability.
Pressfitting is a unique method to make installations inside different sectors, civil and industrial as well. Among the house walls, for example, Pressfitting can be used for potable water pipes, heating and gas. At the industrial level, Pressfitting is suitable for compressed air, cooling/heating, process water and fire-fighting systems.
