PVDF
"PVDF has unique properties for aggressive chemicals at high temperatures"
Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) is a unique thermoplastic with properties which allow it to be used for very aggressive or highly specialised applications. Although expensive compared to other thermoplastics, PVDF offers an economically attractive alternative to many "exotic" materials and / or in process lines where limited working life of other materials necessitates frequent replacement.
PVDF has excellent chemical and physical properties, even at low temperatures, and has considerable resistance to abrasion. It is resistant to most of the inorganic acids and bases, and to aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, organic acids, alcohols and halogenated solvents. It is also non-toxic and can be used for high purity applications.
Safe working temperatures range from -40°C to +140°C, with short term use possible at temperatures well above this level.
PVDF systems are assembled using heat fusion welding, either using socket fittings or butt fusion of pipes and / or fittings end to end. Welding equipment is available for sale or hire from IPS.

Founded back in 1948 by Alois Gruber senior in Austria, nowadays the company is one of the world’s most important single-source suppliers for high-quality piping systems, semi-finished products, concrete protection liners and lining systems made from engineering plastics. With its expertise in producing engineering plastics components and developing tailored solutions, AGRU is present in virtually every sector of industry. Application areas include water and gas infrastructure, the energy sector, chemical and heavy industries, semiconductor and life-sciences, tank and apparatus building, naval and aviation industries, civil engineering and mining, and building construction. The possibilities opened up by Agru are manifold, just as the requirements of the worldwide customers are diverse.
Praher
Praher valves are manufactured in Austria and the USA for a multitude of applications from semi-conductors to agriculture. The range is divided into three groups: "Energy" - safety products for process duties; "Ocean" - for water or simple applications; and "Evolution" - a comprehensive actuated valve programme. Materials covered include PVC-U, Polypropylene and PVDF.
With the integration of IBG into the company, the product range now includes PVC-U fittings in metric diameters up to 400mm.
High standards of reliability, quality and innovation are some of the characteristics for which Praher are renowned.
Stubbe
The first ever thermoplastic valves were produced by Stübbe in their German factory in 1961. Since then the company has expanded considerably and now also has production in Portugal as well as worldwide distribution. Stübbe began manufacturing thermoplastic pumps in the early 1970's and now have one of the largest selections available with capacities from 1.2 to 600 cubic meters per hour.
The Stübbe range is renowned for reliability and strongly engineered solutions.
